Creativity Under a Blue Moon

On Wednesday, August 30th 2023, we’ll again be treated to the dynamic energies of a powerful “Blue Moon.”

The second of two full moons within one calendar month occurs every 2.7 years or so. This natural phenomenon is embraced and somewhat suspicious, depending on your belief or understanding. The Old English word belewe means to betray, as this extra moon is a betrayer in that it upsets the lunar cycles of some religious-based festivals and celebrations.

For many of us who are creatives, it holds significant value.

It’s a time of heightened self-awareness and expression, with a promise of enhanced intellect. It is a wonderful opportunity to experiment, take risks, and make all the wishes, with a better chance of having them come true!

The heavens stimulate inspiration. And who among us doesn’t need an extra jolt right about now as the seasons begin to shift?

Brazen Folk Horror embraces everything connected to the mysteries and seduction of the moon, and we look forward to the motivation, and, perhaps, a wee boost of empowerment as we continue working on Book II of The Delevan Trilogy.

In our stories, the moon, especially a blue one, plays a decisive role in the traditions and fates of our Badb village and its inhabitants.

We invite you to be open and fluid to the pull of this lunar event, but also everything you hope for and are capable of.

The magick is around and in all of us, so take time on Wednesday to look up and make a wish not only on a star but also on this special moon!
